THE DIRECTOR: KRISTOF DEGRYSE

Letting the music speak, that's what it's all about for Kristof. After completing the music academy in Roeselare, Kristof obtained his master's degree in music for trombone in the classes of Michel Tilkin and Jörgen van Rijen. He pursued his orchestral conducting under the guidance of Dirk Brossé and Fabrice Bollon.

Kristof can rely on a career as a trombonist with, among others, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, and Il Novecento. He also worked for several years as an interim solo trombonist with the National Orchestra of Belgium.

As a conductor, Kristof is proud of the many years of collaboration with the Royal Harmony Sint-Hubertus Elewijt and the Royal Fanfare De Eendracht Kampenhout. He especially enjoyed the numerous major projects he was able to complete with them and is proud of the excellent results he achieved with them in musical competitions. After years of intense collaboration with these associations, Kristof delved deeper into instrumentation and orchestration in the class of Ivan Meylemans and Jan Van Der Roost, while simultaneously expanding his repertoire knowledge.

Kristof aims to highlight the HaFaBra (Harmonie, Fanfare, Brass band) as positively as possible and wants to focus especially on innovative cross-over projects. Just like us, Kristof is convinced that a harmony orchestra is a fantastic way to bring people in Brussels closer together. Together with us, he wishes to seek a pleasant group atmosphere and a solid musical level.
